  • Across Europe, the Middle East and Asia over 3,000 volunteers donated 24,000 hours to Corporate Social Responsibility activity (valued at more than £3.6 million). In the US, DLA Piper donated more than 130,000 hours of pro bono legal services in 2009 (valued at approximately $68 million), with an average of 86 hours of pro bono service per lawyer. Our pro bono program is consistently ranked among the best by The American Lawyer. In the UK we were the first legal practice to be listed in the Sunday Times' "Top 100 Companies that Count" for our ranking in Business in the Community's Corporate Responsibility Index.
  • In the US, DLA Piper devoted over 140,000 hours to pro bono and volunteer service in 2009, and nearly 157,000 hours in 2008. In 2008, we received the ABA’s prestigious Pro Bono and Publico Award for our commitment to volunteer legal services for the poor and disadvantaged. We also ranked #16 in The American Lawyer 2008 Pro Bono Scorecard.
